Our beer

Lobeč beer is brewed using a centuries-proven classical Czech procedure with a high degree of manual work. All ingredients in the beer brewing process are, as far as possible, natural and untreated, as bestowed on us by our Lord. Here we would like to quote Benjamin Franklin (who, reportedly, never actually said this!): "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.“

The Water used in the Lobeč brewing process comes from a source located at Stříbrník near the village of Vojtěchov, in the very heart of the Kokořínsko protected landscape area. The mineral elements in our water make it particularly suitable for brewing pale beers of the Czech type.

The Malt is grown locally – in the fields around Lobeč and the neighbouring Vrátno. The malting process takes place in the nearby malt house in Mšeno, with a tradition going back to the 19th century. In addition to its bright colour and high quality, it is also distinguished by its high content of extractive substances, endowing our beers with a rich, full flavour without using darker malts, as is usually done elsewhere.

The Yeast culture, the very essence of every beer, is a pure strain supplied by the Research Institute of Brewing and Malting in Prague. We also use pure culture from Fermentis laboratory.

The Hops, as should always be the case with Czech-type beers, are sourced in The Czech Republic. A major part comes from the Žatec region, reputed to grow the highest quality hops worldwide.

Our Pilsner style beer is brewed single-malt.

We prefer these beers without the Munich or Vienna type caramel malts.

On the other hand, with regards to foreign style beers, we do not hesitate to add not only foreign malts, but foreign hops and yeast strains. They are a natural part of those beers.

Yeast turns beer into a source of vitamins and, above all, enzymes, in turn protecting the liver from the negative impact of alcohol. We do not filter or pasteurize any of our beers, in order to conserve these substances. Our beers are live, unfiltered, and therefore less durable and stable, compared to beers treated with filtration, pasteurization and various chemical additives. That is why we deliver to our pubs on a regular basis, so you may always enjoy our beer fresh, without having spent weeks in warehouses or cellars.

Wheat Ale

Klasický Weissbier - světlé pšeničné pivo se silnou intenzitou vůní a chutí, inspirované sentimentem po Rakouském mocnářství.

Tradiční svrchně kvašené pivo s nadpolovičním podílem pšeničného sladu. Barva piva je světle slámová, zakalená. Pivo je vysoce nasycené s bohatou pěnou. Vůně intenzivní s ovocnými tóny, kde převládá banán a hřebíček. Chuť je jemně nakyslá nasládle harmonická a sladová, osvěžující. Hořkost naopak téměř redukovaná k vyznění ovocných tónů.

Strong Lager
