18° Belgian Trappist Ale

This unusual, distinctive beer, brewed only occasionally in Lobeč, and based on a recipe from the Belgian monastic brewing tradition, is dark golden in color with the smell of malt, herbs and a hint of citrus peel.

It has a smooth bite and medium fullness. A malty beer, spiced with cloves and tones of dried apple, dried apricots, even dried pineapple. The bitterness is light, with slight herbal tones. Aftertaste of malt, honey, with a hint of dried apple and spices, finishing with a light warm alcohol touch.
This beer was included in the encyclopedia “Worlds Best Beers” (2017, B. McFarland & T. Sandham).
